The third and final stage of the auto recycling process involves an inventory of all the remaining auto parts. Traditionally, in many auto recycling plants, the inventory system used is the Hollander. Known as the Hollander Interchange, it is an old numbering system where car parts that can be used in other cars are assigned similar numbers. The system has long been used in auto recycling for over 70 years now. Typically, making use of such allows many auto recyclers to easily locate needed car parts.
Undoubtedly, the concept of auto recycling was created to help keep the environment alive. Yet, auto recycling offers several other benefits both to cars and to prospective car owners. Since auto recycling is essentially involved in salvaging various car parts, it is but natural that when these are placed in newly-manufactured cars, their prices will be significantly lower than cars manufactured from brand-new materials. This will make these cars more affordable since they will be sold at much lower prices.
Apart from lower car prices, another benefit auto recycling extends to the public is the possibility that they can earn a few extra dollars especially if they decide to throw away a wrecked vehicle through the program. Some people used to believe that bringing their cars to auto recyclers is a form of donation, for which they get to receive nothing.
However, this is hardly true, because in some states, people who bring in vehicles for possible auto recycling can actually receive cash gifts. This should make auto recycling a more appealing environmental concept.
